Jackie Robinson launched 2 homeruns and had 7 RBI and Ralph Branca pitched a
complete game as the Philadelphia Phillies were badly beaten by the Brooklyn
Dodgers, 15 to 3.

Robinson had a great day at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every
move. He doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 1st inning, smacked a
three-run homer in the 2nd inning and lifted one out of the park for a two
run home run in the 8th inning. Brooklyn bats were very productive in the
1st inning which saw them score 4 runs on 5 hits and the 8th inning when they
had 5 runs on 6 hits. Brooklyn rapped out 16 hits for the afternoon.

Branca(12-5), allowing 3 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Blix
Donnelly(2-5) was charged with the loss.
