1949 AL Game: Clev. @ Bos.

July 30, 1949

  The Boston Red Sox won their 11th game in a row today by defeating the Cleveland Indians 4-2. The Red Sox scored all 4 runs in the 5th inning and Jack Kramer pitched a complete game for the win. The victory moved Boston within a 1/2 game of 1st place New York.

Jack Kramer went the distance at Fenway Park as the seemingly unstoppable
Boston Red Sox beat the Cleveland Indians 4 to 3.
 
Boston came up with all the runs they needed in the 5th inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 5 hits.  Boston managed 9 hits in their victory.  
 
The winning pitcher was Kramer(4-3) who allowed 3 runs for the game. Early
Wynn(6-4) took the loss.  He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 9 hits and 4
walks.
