September 19, 1949

The Brooklyn Dodgers won their 100th game of the season today when they defeated the Chicago Cubs 4-0. The dominate Dodgers have scored a NL high 909 runs this year and allowed a league low 599 runs, giving Brooklyn an incredible +310 run differential. 2 Dodgers (Jackie Robinson and Carl Furillo) are 1 & 2 in NL BA, and they have 3 players among the top 5 RBI leaders. It should be noted that Pittsburgh's Ralph Kiner is making a bid for 60 homeruns, he leads the NL with 54, and he also leads the league with 134 RBI.
