TEAM RISP- Red Sox: 4 for 15 Yankees: 2 for 11

Shortstop Vern Stephens had 3 base hits and 3 RBI at Yankee Stadium as the
very potent Boston Red Sox came back dramatically to top the New York Yankees
by the score of 7 to 5.

Boston came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 4 hits. Both teams finished the game with 10 hits.

The winning pitcher was Tex Hughson(3-4) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings. Joe
Page(5-6) was the losing pitcher in relief. He was a hard-luck loser as he
did not allow an earned run in his 2 and 1/3 innings of work.

Page was feeling apologetic in the locker room, 'I sure let that one get away.
What a miserable feeling to let the guys down; and our fans. One minute
things are looking great, then. BOOM, it's over with! I just hope I get a
chance to redeem myself real soon!'
