In a close game it was the blistering-hot Cleveland Indians 4, the Boston Red
Sox 2 at Municipal Stadium.

Cleveland took the lead for good in the bottom of the 3rd inning with 2 runs
on 2 base hits. Ray Boone jump-started the scoring when he delivered a solo
blast. Two outs later Joe Gordon stepped in and he clubbed a solo home run.
Mike Garcia(5-1) got help from Satchel Paige who pitched a perfect ninth and
was credited with his 2nd save.

Mickey McDermott(1-2) was charged with the loss. Cleveland added another win
to their now very impressive winning streak. Lou Boudreau was clearly happy
after the game -- 'Everything is clicking for us right now.'
