Jimmy Bloodworth ripped 3 homeruns and had 7 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds
destroyed the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 19 to 7 at Forbes
Field.

Bloodworth enjoyed a big day at the plate. He belted a three-run homer in the
3rd inning, lofted a three-run bomb in the 3rd inning, hit a bases-empty home
run in the 5th inning and stroked a one-base hit in the 7th inning.
Cincinnati bats were hot in the 3rd inning which saw them score 10 runs on 5
hits and the 4th inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits. Offensively,
Cincinnati was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

Eddie Erautt(4-2) picked up the victory, allowing 7 runs in 5 innings. Kent
Peterson got the save, his 2nd. Vic Lombardi(3-3) took the loss. He had
trouble throwing strikes and issued 7 walks in 2 innings.
