As MLB gets ready for the 1949 All Star game at Ebbets Field tomorrow, Brooklyn finds themselves comfortably in 1st place in the NL. The St. Louis Cardinals got on a hot streak near the end of June and are now tied with the Philadelphia Phillies for 2nd place.
