1949 AL News Recap with League Leaders

July 1, 1949

The month of June is in the books. New York's Tommy Henrich has been having an excellent season at the plate and he's been even more red-hot as of late. Henrich leads the AL in Homeruns (22) and RBI (71). His .390 BA in June, .447 over the last 10 days, pushed him up to 2nd in the AL. Definitely a candidate for a Triple Crown in the 1949 MLB season. Boston's Johnny Pesky leads the AL in BA (.361) and teammate Ted Williams is putting up some nice power numbers. The Yankees' Vic Raschi leads the AL in Wins with 12.
